Special leave

In accordance with the ABU CLA, you are entitled to special leave in the following situations:

Civil marriage

one day

Marriage or registered partnership

two days 

Marriage or registered partnership of (grand)child, sibling or parents

one day 

Death of partner or child

from day of death to day of funeral

Death of brother or sister, parents, grandparents, grandchild

one day + attending funeral, unless the temporary worker arranges the funeral, then from the day of death up to and including the day of the funeral

12 ½, 25th and 40th wedding anniversary

one day

25 and 40 years of service

one day

25th, 40th, 50th, 60th and 70th wedding anniversary of parents and grandparents

one day

Taking (professional) examinations to obtain a recognized exam

one day

 

Definitions:

Child --> child of the temporary worker or his/her partner, which includes adopted, step, foster child or child recognized by the temporary worker

Brother or sister --> adoptive, half, step and foster brother; adoptive, half, step and foster sister, brother-in-law and sister-in-law

Parents --> parents of the temporary worker, including adoptive, step, foster or in-law parents

Grandparents --> grandparents of the temporary worker or his/her partner, including adoptive, step or foster grandparents

Partner --> spouse, registered partner or person with whom the temporary worker cohabits unmarried
