When and how do I get paid my sick pay?

When do I get paid if I am sick on duty?

Are you unable to work due to disability? Then you are entitled to continued sick pay. The first day counts as a waiting day, you will not be paid this day. From the 2nd day of illness you are entitled to continued payment of 90% of the so-called time-based salary.

What does that mean and how is it calculated?

We look at the average number of hours worked over the last 13 weeks (or so much less if you are employed for a shorter period). Those hours are then 90% paid to you. You will be paid this as you normally receive your salary. So weekly, 4-weekly or monthly.

When do I get paid if I am sick out of service?

The payment by Acture takes place weekly on Thursday afternoon. When exactly the money is in your account depends on the processing time of your bank.

You usually receive your first payment four weeks after you report sick. When we receive the sick report from your (former) employer, we must first determine whether you are entitled to sickness benefit.

If this is the case, we immediately request wage information from the UWV or your (former) employer. We use this information to calculate your daily wage. This whole process takes about four weeks. After that, Acture pays your sickness benefit on a weekly basis.

How is the daily wage calculated?

Acture determines the amount of your daily wage according to the legal rules in the Dagloonbesluit Werknemersverzekeringen. The daily wage is determined according to a fixed formula: [(A-B) x 108 / 100 + C] / D

A = The wage (sv wage) and any Sickness Benefits Act benefit you received during the reference period with your (former) employer.

B = The amounts of vacation allowance you received in the reference period.

C = The wages you received in the reference period from your (former) employer if they did not pay the vacation allowance separately. This occurs for example with all-in verloners.

D = The number of daily wage days per calendar year. This is normally 261. Did the employment in which you became ill start after the start of the reference period? Then it concerns the number of day labor days from the first day of this employment up to and including the last day of the reference period.
